Morning Star Higher Secondary School is a co-educational English Medium School. Mother Mary the Morning Star the seat of Wisdom is the patroness of the school. The CMI Institution has been conceived with the concept of our founder Blessed Kuriakose Elias Chavara, who considered education as the integral formation of the human for the fulfilment of his or her individual and social responsibilities.

Located on the salubrious hills of the Queen of hills, The Nilgiris, Morning Star Higher Secondary School began its journey in the year 1991 in pursuit of meaningful education. The school has its humble beginning with a number of 7 staff and 70 students, which has zoomed to 73 staff members and school strength scaled to 1460 students as on date.

The foundation stone was laid by Rev Fr Joseph Mattom CMI, then Provincial, on 8th December, 1990, blessed by Mar Jacob Thumkuzhy-then Bishop of Mananthavady and inaugurated by Mar Aruldas James, then Bishop of Ooty on 25th May 1991. Since then Morning Star Higher Secondary School has been standing strong for 30 years now. We take the modesty to say that we did our best to do as we have planned and we are proud of our students and teachers who strive hard to achieve beyond expectation.
